The sickest riders in the great state of Texas, which one's came out on top...
2007 | Our Biggest Year Ever!!!

After three successful seasons, we are taking it up a notch with some exciting changes to the schedule for the 2007 series. The uniqueness of the events will make them special.

BOARDSHORTS, BULLS and BIKINI’S
February 10th - Gilley’s Honky-Tonk / Dallas, Texas

Boardshorts, Bulls and Bikinis debuted last year and despite a surprise cold front that sent temperatures in to the twenty’s, an enthusiastic crowd of close to two thousand were treated to some insane winter wakeboarding and exciting mechanical bull riding! It’s truly a wakeboard “rodeo” held deep in the heart of Texas.

The event will once again take place at the legendary Gilley’s Honky-Tonk in Dallas. It will feature top regional and pro riders battling head-to-head in this western wakeboard round-up that will include a pool-gap rail jam in the parking lot followed by a bull riding contest inside on Gilley’s mechanical bull. And to top of the evening…live music and bikini bull-riding!

SPRING BREAK SLAM Rail Jam
March 15th-16th – South Padre Island, Texas

In our continuing effort to grow the sport of wakeboarding by exposing our sport to the masses and to give our sponsor/partners the best opportunity to market your product(s) and/or service(s) to the largest possible group of consumers, we are taking this show on the road to the biggest party of the summer – Spring Break on South Padre Island!

Due to the location and timing, the Spring Break Slam would undoubtedly be the biggest wakeboard rail jam, and quite possibly biggest wakeboard event of any kind, in the country. It will take place the week of March 12th when all of the Texas colleges are celebrating their spring breaks. The rail jam will either take place on the beach at the Bahia Mar resort and will also feature live music on stage overlooking the beach rail jam…it will be HUGE!

RIPTANK Rail Jam
April 27th – Lubbock, Texas

This event is a partnership with the RIPTANK Board Shop in Lubbock. It will be a Friday night rail jam in downtown Lubbock that will kick-off their 2nd Annual RIPTANK Wakeboard Tournament. The rail jam will be followed by an after-party and live concert featuring a top regional and/or national music act TBD.

It’s a great opportunity to tap in to a market that has a growing wakeboard community and a huge, young consumer base. Much of the city is built around Texas Tech University which has a student population of 30,000+. Texas Tech also has an active, competitive wakeboard team.

2nd Annual
LONGHORN RAIL JAM
May 12th – Austin, Texas

Austin has a strong wakeboarding contingent and a young consumer base always looking for new and unusual “experiences” to take part in. Each weekend, 6th Street is closed to vehicle traffic and thousands of young adults fill the bars and restaurants that make up this notorious “party” strip.

This was home to our most successful event in 2006 and in 2007 we will return to the scene of the crime for the second annual installment of this exciting, downtown wakeboard rail jam party in the streets!

3rd Annual
BIG AIR DOUBLE-UP CONTEST and Pro Tour Pre-Party

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED...

In 2006, this event took place in Portland, Oregon prior to the Pro Tours Northwest stop. Twenty-four top pro and regional riders battled it out for $5000 cash. This year, we are taking the show to the land of 10,000 lakes… Minnesota.

In 2007 – the plan is to double the prize money – double the crowd – double the fun and throw another great “Pro Tour Pre-Party”! This is a great opportunity to promote your product/service and drive incremental retail sales in another extremely active and growing wakeboarding market.

MALIBU PRO TEAM CHALLENGE
August 11th-12th – Location TBD

This is a brand new tournament that will take things to the next level for the sport and for our sponsor/partners. The Malibu Pro Team Challenge will pit the top wakeboard manufacturers and their pro teams against each other for a $25,000 “winner take all” competition. It will be an all encompassing pro level event like non-other featuring three disciplines – a Double-up contest, a Kicker Big Air contest and Pool Gap Rail Jam – all in one weekend, capped off with a full product demo day to help stimulate additional sales and awareness of your product(s) and service(s).

WWA Winch Worlds
August 24th – Reno, Nevada

The goal is to repeat the success we had at 2006 Worlds in Fort Worth with another Rail Jam/ WWA Worlds “kick-off” party. It’s a great opportunity to expose your product/service to the entire industry as well as to water sports fans in “The Biggest Little City in the World”… Reno, Nevada…a region of the country that is known for its unlimited outdoor recreational activities.

Malibu Boats to partner with Geiger Media for 2006 Wakeboard Events

ARLINGTON , TX (December 21, 2005) – Geiger Media is pleased to announce a partnership with Malibu Boats for the 2006 season.

Malibu has been associated with some of the biggest events in water sports including the Malibu Open, SBC Canada’s Wakestock and most recently, the WWA World Wakeboarding Championships in Australia. They are also the official tow boat of Liquid Force’s 2006 Trip Across America. “They are truly living up to their slogan of taking things A Step Beyond and I am excited that they are prepared to do the same with our 2006 series”, said event organizer, Bill Geiger.

“The crew at Malibu share the same vision of growing the sport through exciting and creative new events that I have” said Geiger. “The addition of Malibu as the ‘Official’ boat sponsor/partner is the first step in taking this series to the next level.”

Over the past two years the Texas Wakeboard Tour, produced by Geiger Media, has become one of the premiere wakeboarding “lifestyle” series in the Southwest. The goals for 2006 and beyond are the same, continue to promote and grow the sport, but with a different twist. 2006 will also see the series travel outside of Texas for the first time. These will all be grassroots events professionally organized and all driven by a well planned marketing/advertising campaign.

The success of the series can be directly attributed to the support from sponsors, both industry and non-endemic. Major backers have included Nissan North America, Hooters, Coors Light, Chipotle Restaurants, The US Air Force and Mastercraft Boats. Industry supporters have included Liquid Force Wakeboards, Spy Optic, Straight Line, O’Brien, Reef, Krown Wakeboards, Da Hui, Wake Specialty, Love Sac, Fox Racing, Wake Culture, Kicker Audio, KMC Wheels, One West, Indo Board and Red Bull

Since Malibu’s inception in 1982 President/CEO Robert Alkema’s mission has been very simple and is built on the philosophy that the success of the organization is a direct result of the employee’s commitment to quality.

Malibu Boats maintains factories in Merced, California; Loudon, Tennessee and Albury, Australia. For info go to www.malibuboats.com.

About Geiger Media

In 2004, Geiger Media created, organized and produced the Texas Wakeboard Tour…a regional tournament series whose ultimate goals where to promote the sport of wakeboarding in the Southwest. The series consisted of three (3) stops in 2004 – one each in the San Antonio/Austin, Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth markets.

The 2005 TWT series consisted of tournaments in the same Texas markets and also included an exciting new event, a nighttime Double-up Contest and Pro Tour Pre-Party held “under-the-lights” at a private lake in Fort Worth.

2006 will be the beginning of a three (3) year plan to expand the series outside of Texas and to a national level. The first non-Texas event is scheduled to take place in Portland, GA in June. For info go to www.texaswakeboardtour.com
