2008 Rail Jam Series

After four successful seasons, we are taking it up a notch with some exciting changes to the schedule for the 2008 series. The uniqueness of the events will make them special.

BOARDSHORTS, BULLS and BIKINI’S
February 8th - Gilley’s Honky-Tonk / Dallas, Texas

The 3rd annual Boardshorts, Bulls and Bikinis in Dallas is STOP #1 of the 2008 series and it is consistently the biggest event in/around the Dallas Winter Boat Show. The event will once again features top Pro and local wakeboarders battling head-to-head for cash, prizes and the coveted BBB custom silver championship belt buckles. The enthusiastic crowds are always treated to some insane winter wakeboarding and exciting mechanical bull riding! It’s truly a wakeboard “rodeo” held deep in the heart of Texas.

The event will once again take place at the legendary Gilley’s Honky-Tonk in Dallas. In an effort to take this event to the next level in 2008, a top local or national music act (TBA) will perform at the official BBB after-party inside the all new “Loft” venue at Gilley’s following the conclusion of the Bull-Riding contest.

This event has been featured on Fuel TV’s “Weekly Update” Show for the past two years as well as a nice write-up in Alliance Wakeboard Magazine. When you consider the list of past competitors (Scott Byerly, Chad Sharpe, Andrew Adkison, Aaron Rathey, Tino Santori, Shane Bonifay, George Daniels, Tom Fooshee, Bret Little, Danny Hampson) you know it’s an event not to be missed!

RIPTANK Rail Jam at the Garden
April 12th – Lubbock, Texas

By all accounts, the RIPTANK Rail Jam was the biggest surprise of the 2007 series…that’s why we are coming back! STOP #3 of the 2008 TWT will once again be  a partnership with the RIPTANK Board Shop. It will be a Friday night rail jam on Buddy Holly Avenue in the Lower Depot entertainment district, followed by an after-party and live concert featuring a top regional and/or national music act TBD.
Located in the heart of the South Plains, Lubbock offers a rich history, a dynamic economy, and a unique culture.  A thriving city of over 200,000 people, Lubbock serves as the region's economic, educational, and health care hub. Known as the “Music Crossroads of West Texas”, Lubbock has hosted many musical legends, including Lubbock’s son, Buddy Holly who attracted followers and inspired musicians all around the world.

The crew at the Riptank Board Shop are always looking for ways to support the sport that they all love! They even hit the road with us after our Lubbock event last year and made the trip to Austin for the Longhorn Rail Jam and then traveled across country to be a sponsor/partner of the Inaugural Malibu Pro Team Challenge (they own a sweet Malibu LSV).

Another Pro Wakeboard Event...Texas Style!
LONGHORN RAIL JAM
May 10th – Austin, Texas

The Longhorn Rail Jam on 6th Street in Austin has consistently been one of our biggest annual contests. STOP #4 of the 2008 TWT has us returning to the states capitol for another high-energy event in a young, active marketplace and it is guaranteed to be a fun wakeboard party for everyone involved.

Austin has a strong wakeboarding contingent and an eclectic population that is always looking for new and unusual “experiences” to take part in. Each weekend, 6th Street is closed to vehicle traffic and thousands of young adults fill the bars and restaurants that make up this notorious “party” strip.

This event has been the “un-official” kick-off party for Cablestock, one of the biggest annual events at the Texas Ski Ranch in New Braunfels. It gives the riders two great reasons to head to south Texas in May (…like partying in Austin isn’t reason enough already!).
